Educational Institutions

Threat Assessment Executives LLC recognizes that educational institutions continue to be challenged with the ever evolving and unique set of threats and hazards impacting the educational environment.

Our services remain aligned with the guidelines and mandates established by the U.S Department of Education, Illinois State Board of education, applicable state laws and best practices.

On April 5, 2018, the Illinois Terrorism Task Force- School Safety Working Group made thirteen (13) recommendations designed to help make Illinois schools even safer. 

The School Safety Working Group was composed of local law enforcement professionals, Illinois State Police, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, representatives of campus emergency management, campus police, the school resource officers association and representatives of statewide school associations.

After lengthy and comprehensive meetings, the group recommended these thirteen (13) recommendations:

 

BEHAVIORAL THREAT ASSESSMENT

  1. Implement Behavioral Threat Assessment Teams
  2. Implement a Behavioral Threat Assessment Policy
  3. Information Sharing Between Schools and Law Enforcement
  4. Information Sharing Among Schools
  5. Encourage Student Reporting of Threats
  6. Implement a School Safety Tip Line

 

HARDENING OF SCHOOL FACILITIES

  1. Prioritize List of Hardening of School Facilities
  2. Form Regional Site Physical Site Assessment Teams
  3. Amend School Facilities Sales Tax Law to Expand its Use

 

RESPONSE PROTOCOLS IN SCHOOLS

  1. Implement Core Principles of a Quality Active Violence Response Programs
  2. Plan and Implement Active Shooter Drills in Schools
  3. Assess Fire Alarm Protocols
  4. Implement Trauma Management Training in Schools
